14. Sugary Beverages and Sports Drinks

Sugary drinks, including fruit juices, energy drinks, and sports beverages, provide little nutritional value and are high in rapidly absorbable sugars. These beverages can spike blood sugar, reduce appetite control, and increase nausea or bloating with GLP-1 medications. Replacing them with nutrient-rich drinks supports the medication’s benefits while providing hydration.

What to Take Instead Water is the best option, followed by unsweetened herbal teas or infused water. Electrolyte powders without added sugar can be used occasionally if needed.
