12. Full-Fat Dairy
Whole milk, cream, cheese, and butter are high in saturated fat, which slows digestion and can cause nausea or bloating with GLP-1 medications. Some individuals may also experience heartburn or diarrhea when consuming large amounts of full-fat dairy while starting therapy. While dairy is an important source of calcium and protein, choosing high-fat versions can interfere with the medication’s intended effects.
What to Take Instead Low-fat or non-fat dairy options such as plain yogurt, skim milk, or cottage cheese provide protein and calcium without the excess fat. Pairing dairy with fruit or whole grains enhances nutrition and supports appetite control.
